“From the front lines of modern medicine, Tell Me Where It Hurts is a fascinating insider portrait of a veterinarian, his furry patients, and the blend of old-fashioned instincts and cutting-edge technology that defines pet care in the twenty-first century. For anyone who’s ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at your veterinarian’s office, Tell Me Where It Hurts offers a vicarious journey through twenty-four intimate, eye-opening, heartrending hours at the premier Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston.
You’ll learn about the amazing progress of modern animal medicine, where organ transplants, joint replacements, and state-of-the-art cancer treatments have become more and more common. With these technological advances come controversies and complexities that Dr. Nick Trout thoughtfully explores, such as how long (and at what cost) treatments should be given, how the Internet has changed pet care, and the rise in cosmetic surgery.
You’ll also be inspired by the heartwarming stories of struggle and survival filling these pages. With a wry and winning tone, Dr. Nick offers up hilarious and delightful anecdotes about cuddly (or not-so-cuddly) pets and their variously zany, desperate, and demanding owners. In total, Tell Me Where It Hurts offers a fascinating portrait of the comedy and drama, complexities and rewards involved with loving and healing animals.”

* It’s with great sadness that I’ve learned of the death of little Eti today.
I was out of touch with Chris his Pap, but found this tribute on YouTube.
Etienne was a beautiful French bulldog that my Kobey-Rose once played with.
He died at 3 years old from a brain lesion. Hug your dog a little tighter tonight.

This creep kicked his roommate’s Boston terrier to death so savagely that details of the heinous crime left grand jurors weeping, the pet’s owner said yesterday. Tafik Habib, who was indicted in the case last week, allegedly attacked little Sasha after Teddy Bonaros left the apartment to get her and his other dogs their favorite treat: fried chicken from a Chinese restaurant.
“I knew something was wrong [upon returning] because the dogs didn’t come running to greet me,” said Bonaros, 50.
“I saw Sasha on the floor and had a severe pain in my ribs. I was devastated. I tried giving her mouth-to-mouth, but she must have died immediately.”
Bonaros said Habib had moved into his three-bedroom Washington Heights apartment - home to his eight dogs, including Sasha’s four puppies - in December, after finding the apartment through a Web-site listing.
“From the beginning, it was clear he didn’t like dogs. He used to say they are like dirt, they have no value in life,” Bonaros said. “I should never have left him alone with them.”
Bonaros said that when he testified about the beating that Habib allegedly gave Sasha, “some of the [grand] jurors had tears rolling down their faces.”
Habib told cops he kicked the 15-pound, 3-year-old dog after she attacked him. If this is true it may have been that she was protecting her puppies.
He was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, and is due back in court in July.
His lawyer did not immediately return calls for comment.
Meanwhile, Bonaros, a former airport security screener, says he can’t work now because of emotional trauma from the incident.
He said he keeps Sasha’s ashes next to a candle in his bedroom.
“She was just a loving dog who would never have hurt anybody,” he said. “It still devastates me to think about her . . . Every time I think about what happened, I break down.” Teddy named one of the pups Sashita - or Little Sasha - after her mother.
Maria Eftimiades of Northeast Boston Terrier Rescue, which helped Bonaros pay for Sasha’s cremation, decried the crime.
“The puppies were only 8 weeks old” when their mother was killed, Eftimiades said. “If they’d been any younger, they wouldn’t have survived.” source: The New York Post.
* Rest In Peace Sasha.

Shia LaBeouf looks dapper on the June 2008 cover of GQ Magazine. Here are some interview highlights: “On working on the new Indiana Jones film: “I never worked so hard for anything in my life. I did four months of sword fighting and bike training. And I spent insane amounts of time on the switchblade.”
* I just saw the movie and thought it was a fun ride. Now there is talk of Shia taking the lead role in future Indiana Jones films, seeing how Harrison is getting a little too old to be believable in such a fast paced action adventure. I think Ford would be missed, but will look forward to what Shia will do as the son of Indiana Jones.
